WELCOME
Since they formed in 2004, Black Market Rhythm Co. have crossed the country numerous times, sold out shows in every mainland capital, played the Big Day Out, closed the Woodford Folk Festival, and become known for bringing smiles to faces and movement to hips around the nation.
Their debut EP, Ain't For Sale, made the Hottest 100 voting list and their debut album, Low-Fi Records, Hi-Fi Radio was voted in the top five roots albums of the year by Triple J's listeners and received a four star review from The Australian.
Critics have compared them to Powderfinger, The Shins and The Clash, but their melodies have the hallmarks of classic 60s pop and the impossible-to-pigeon-hole grooves of a group of musicians who've drawn their influences from 19-30 years spent in indie record stores and the bottom drawers of their parents vinyl collections. Stop reading; start listening.
